Electronics are being replaced every day with faster and smaller devices, and yet few are recycled after these products become obsolete. As a result, mountains of electronic waste are piling up in landfills across Canada.
ACAP Cape Breton's Electronics Recycling Program (ERP) continues to be a highly successful program in giving a second life to these used electronics. Since it's inception our electronics program has refurbished thousands of personal computers which have then been redistributed to the general public as well as various other electronics. Watch for our annual computer giveaways in the Cape Breton Post and the Maritime Merchant.
Effective September 30th, 2009 our giveaways will be raffled off. Everyone who shows up will receive one FREE ticket and depending on how many systems are available the corresponding amount of numbers will be drawn and systems provided to those winning numbers. We hope this will provide a more even distribution and give everyone who shows up a chance at obtaining a free computer.
If you are interested in obtaining a refurbished computer system through our program which includes: PC tower (with an operating system installed), monitor, keyboard, mouse and all cables then please phone or email us for options and details. Subject to availability.
