Trashformers

The Trashformers is our lean, green, not-so-mean, litter pick-up team.

The Trashformers is a summer program that started in 2011 as a partnership between the CBRM Solid Waste Department and ACAP Cape Breton.  During the summer months they work hard to keep our communities clean and free of litter. Since 2011, the Trashformers have collected more than 50 000 kgs of litter in the CBRM.

By properly disposing of your own garbage, you can do your part to help the Trashformers by keeping our region beautiful all year round.

Check out the map below to see the hard work the Trashformers did in 2023.

Community Cleanup Collective

The Trashformers can’t do it all. In order to make a change in our community we all need to come together and do our part. That is why we are piloting the ACAP Cape Breton Community Cleanup Collective to mobilize citizens and facilitate action by community members who are passionate about the environment. If you are interested in hosting or participating in community clean ups, let us know!

If you have any suggestions of locations for the Trashformers to visit during their operating season, let us know by filling out the form in the link below!
