Mabou River Winter Walk
ACAP Cape Breton, the Municipality of Inverness County, and the Mabou Gaelic and Historical Society are hosting a winter watershed walk! This walk will focus on local history, tree ID, and some track identification.
Date: Saturday, January 31, 2026 (storm date: Sunday, February 1, 2026)
Time: 12:00 p.m.-1:30 p.m.
Location: Celtic Shores Coastal Trail - Highway 252 Entrance, Hillsborough (The Landing). Park along the Smithville Road.
We ask that all participants dress for the weather, wear sturdy footwear, and bring water.
We encourage anyone interested to pre–register by emailing Monica (mragan@acapcb.ns.ca) so we can let you know if the walk needs to be postponed. In case of postponement, that will be made via email and social media by 9:00 am Saturday, January 31.
We will determine closer to the date if snowshoes are needed for the walk. If you have snowshoes, please bring them; if not, we will have a few extras on hand.
